Nothing like fresh singed hair in the morning...

This years branding brought a few first

Questen not only lassoed one cow but two!
Boy were we proud parents!
Way to go bud!
Wrangler butts in a larger size then our traditional picture!
He he.
Don't hate me... Love you guys!

Violet had her first realization of what was really happening to the baby calfies and she wasn't happy about it.
I'm glad she has a sweet tender heart.
My heart went out to her sucking back the tears.

Questen watching the festivites from the best view.
I love this picture of him!

I think it's safe to say that Lilla is NOT enjoying this very much.
What do you think?

Nope not much, at all!

Oh there's our traditional Wrangler bum picture in it's regular size!
so cute!
What are those three men laughing about?
It couldn't be that Julie, Violet , and I had cow poop splattered all over us.
No they wouldn't dare laugh at that....
They would definitely not laugh at the fact that, Julie's hair might grow a few extra inches this summer thanks to the nice layer of manure that met her head, right?
I'm sure that's not what they're laughing at...
Working hard or hardly workin boys?
Sky tried something new with a freeze dried technique on one cow
and the branding was finished.

How do you warm a Lillie's heart? Why, feed her food of course!
Just when we thought everyone could relax...
They're... pouring cement?
Yup!
You can never say that this family doesn't know how to work, that's fur sure!
Thanks, Paul and Elaine for teaching us all good work values.
and again, I'm sorry that you will forever have Lilli's footprints across your new cement.
Really, really sorry!

Branding cows makes me sad too. But the cows seem to be over it in seconds. It's taken me ten years to get use to it and I still have to take a big deep breath before it begins. My inlaws think I'm a ninny! lol

Love your new background. Way cute. Your pictures are adorable. Fun family adventures. I have heard that cows don't have feelings. Don't know if it is true, but it helps you kind of get over the whole branding thing!!
